Spaghetti Works in Omaha’s Old Market is a well-known historic building that required careful masonry restoration along the 11th Street side. Years of exposure had left the brick darkened with buildup, and mortar joints were beginning to fail. The goal was to clean, restore, and reinforce the structure without changing its historic character.
We began with a full exterior cleaning to remove grime and surface contaminants that had accumulated over time. Once the brick was properly cleaned, we completed tuckpointing across the affected areas, removing deteriorated mortar and replacing it with new material matched to the building’s original appearance.
The project also included rebuilding sections of the stone ribbon detail that had worn down over the years. Using scaffolding and lift equipment, we worked safely at height to restore these architectural elements while keeping the overall look consistent with the building’s original design. The finished result strengthened the structure while preserving its place in the Old Market district.
